The walk down
Leave by the lower gate, follow the towpath past the second lock, and come up at the basin steps. Eight minutes down, closer to twelve back. Lit as far as the second bridge. After that, take a torch.
What we will tell you
Which kitchens serve after ten, when the market runs, which nights are busy, and where boats actually wait. We sell no tickets and take no commission from anywhere on the quay.
Getting back
The boat taxi runs to the lower gate until 00:10. After that it is the path or a car from the basin. Tell the desk if you expect to be late and the lamps will stay on.
Carry photographic identification if you intend to enter licensed floors on the quay. Door staff check every time and we cannot vouch anybody in.
